Adjectives
Words that describe or modify nouns and pronouns.
An adjective is a word that describes or gives more information about a noun or pronoun. Adjectives answer questions like "What kind?", "Which one?", or "How many?". They make our language more precise and colourful — without adjectives, we could not tell the difference between a big dog and a small dog, or a happy child and a sad child.
An adjective is a word that modifies (describes) a noun or pronoun. It tells us more about the quality, quantity, or state of the noun.
Quality: a beautiful flower, a brave soldier, an honest answer
Size: a big house, a small car, a tall building
Feeling: a happy child, a tired teacher, a worried mother
Adjectives usually come before a noun ("a beautiful flower") or after a linking verb ("The flower is beautiful.").
