Prepositions

Words that show relationships of time, place, and movement.

Prepositions are small but powerful words that show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and other words in a sentence.

A preposition is a word placed before a noun or pronoun to show its relationship to another word in the sentence.

The book is on the table.

She arrived at midnight.

He walked across the bridge.

They did it for her.

The noun or pronoun after a preposition is called the object of the preposition. Always use the object form: with me (not with I).
