Verbs

Action words and state words that drive every sentence.

A verb is the engine of a sentence. Without a verb, there is no sentence. Verbs express actions, events, and states of being.

A verb is a word that expresses an action, an event, or a state of being. Every complete sentence must contain a verb.

Action: She runs every morning.

Event: The storm struck the coast.

State: He seems tired.

Being: They are students.
